Have you made your charitable donations yet? If not, or if you haven’t in the past, you should consider helping people in need this holiday season. Last week was Giving Tuesday, and during the frenzy of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, while we buy for ourselves and loved ones, we sometimes forget that the holidays are a time when the less fortunate aren’t rushing out to stores at midnight. They’re fighting every day to make ends meet. Don’t get lost in the material shuffle of holiday shopping: give back.

There are plenty of worthy charities out these. No matter what cause you hold dear, there is probably a charity out there doing the good work and helping people in need. Be active in your pursuit of worthy causes. Read their mission statements, Conduct independent research about where your money is going and how it will be used.

Sometimes, money isn’t all that organizations look for. A great example – many animal shelters are flooded with donations of treats and food, but what they are routinely short on is cleaning supplies. Granted, cash can buy cleaning supplies, but the point is to get to know the charity you’re looking to help.

What if writing a check isn’t enough? Have you considered volunteering? As much as financial contributions help keep not-for-profits alive, often the hardest thing for any organization to find is will volunteers. Anyone can give a donation; to roll up your sleeves and actually do something is a cut above passive participation. You are actually doing something to help. Manpower and a true commitment is hard to find.

WhoopTee is very proud to have helped numerous organizations find affordable custom t-shirts over the years. We highly recommend going out into the world and supporting worthy causes with your check book and your sweat.
